MORTUS

MORTUS is a fast 2D arena fighter I've been making on my own. Pick a fighter, jump into an arena and fight 1v1 or 2v2, online with friends or strangers, or against bots.

There are 20 fighters, and each one plays differently. Find the one that clicks with you, then make it yours in the locker.

It's free and still in development, so expect updates. If something feels off, or you just want to say what you liked, leave a comment. I read every one.

How to play together

Open PLAY, then ONLINE.

• QUICK MATCH puts you in a game with other players. If nobody shows up, bots fill in so you're never stuck waiting.
• PRIVATE gives you a code to send to your friends.
• LOCAL is for players on the same network.

Hold an attack to charge it. You can change every key, and the gamepad's fight buttons, in SETTINGS, CONTROLS.

Install

The itch app is the easiest way: it installs the game and keeps it updated.

Downloading the zip instead? Extract it and keep all the files together, then run MORTUS.exe (Windows) or MORTUS.x86_64 (Linux). If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.

Needs

Windows 10 or later, or 64-bit Linux, and a graphics card from about 2016 or newer.
